Silly People: Or maybe they just never stop to think.
Time and again on TV and on YouTube someone walks through boulders and rocks of all sizes, including large rocks in impossible looking positions balanced precariously on small pinnacles of rock and looking about ready to topple. Obviously the soft earth eroded over the years and left the situation to be seen.
They are walking to the bottom of a rock face, usually sand stone, look up and see a stairway high above that they can’t reach without climbing. They ask, ‘how did people of old get up there?’ They have just walked over the means the people of long ago used to get up there. The rocks they walked over were part of the cliff faces and have broken off over time and taken the lower steps and flat areas with them. They often find pottery amongst the rubble and wonder how it got there. Surely it is obvious. Although it is unlikely the cliffs broke off without warning. Just a matter of having been forced to move when they did over the centuries. Silly people still think the Mayans left their properties deliberately. If they watched YouTube videos like Cleaning TN or Al Bladez they’d see how quickly the growth can overtake them, and without power tools they had no hope of rescuing their properties after the Spanish left. Make the amazon region farms again?
