Royals Work For:- The press. Without the royals there would be no press. The papers, TV, radio, magazines, on line media would be reduced to local press reporting and all peace might break out. I had to laugh at one who complained at something a royal said in answer to a press question and has been vilified for it by the press. They claim that what was said was selfish and attention seeking. I think they forget that they asked the question. If that was not attention seeking for their media I don’t know what is. All the royals should resign then you would see the idle press squirm. Maybe God should resign them. UK royals I mean. Next – I hate what I write below, but I’ll write it anyway.
TV Licences:- Why not reduce the money to a sensible monthly / yearly subscription and make it very simply that no-one can watch the licenced channels without the licence. They can do that by giving every licence number an associated automatically generated password associated to the licence number of the licenced property, but not by using the customers licence number itself. No-one need know the password associated with the licence number, except it might be necessary for a means to over ride the computer in the event of a complaint. A simple check of the up to date, or not, property licence should suffice in that infrequent event. The most important thing is that with everyone paying the cost could / can be greatly reduced to a manageable amount. Greatly reduced, but generating a lot more revenue, and very happy licence holders. The customers licence number should NOT be used to verify possession of a licence for automatically allowing viewing purposes, only an automatically generated password code associated with that number, and Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I hate this post.
