Pot Holes Filler:
How to fill holes that stay filled. There is a product used in the motor and boat industries for filling small holes. It is the same product that wind turbines are made from, which as you all know is resin strengthened with glass fibre matting. The difference is the fibres are supplied already in the resin. Shorter, but for small holes very very effective and easy to apply. You simply mix it with the hardener and apply it with a plastic spreader. The fibres naturally spread in every direction forming a very strong material. Obviously you can’t use those materials, but
Supposing a mix was prepared in advance using the same principle as the resin and fibres and poured in the holes would the strength be enough to last the test of time. It could be mixed on site. What should the mix contain? I say:- Bitumen – and Stones (gravel) as per regulation surfacing tar and short fibres, but what fibres? I was watching IFarmWeFarm on You Tube and he was scraping a road and speaking about repairing it some day, and I thought throw some straw in the mix. (Don’t Sir) It was just a passing thought, but ? I don’t think shredded straw is strong enough because it would tear too easily and be too expensive in bulk quantities, although you don’t know what such a mix is capable of withstanding until you try it. However: There are easily grown crops that are much more resilient, especially when crossed in every direction like a mix should be, and would be by default. I’m not a plant expert. Flax? It might also be possible to produce a shredded synthetic material cheaply in bulk for the purpose as vast supplies would be essential. There are a lot of holes after all. Quality is not required just a lot of it. Note:- One such filler is David’s or is it Davids Isopon P.40. You can see it on Amazon or in any vehicle or boat supplies shop.
