I read a book once about a south Pacific island where there was no law except what the leader made up, and he was often dispatched by the swift use of a club over the head. Who needs laws? Just knock off your leaders and anyone else you don’t like, and lay down your own laws for like minded people as you see fit. However watch your backs, because others with equally evil eyes and more daft ideas will have designs on doing the same to you sooner or later. The island was ruled by fear and was total chaos including homosexuals, unpunished murder, rape, and if someone wanted something they just took it, if they were strong enough. Fiction? Well missionaries often found them in such a state, and many did not live to tell about it. At the moment Britain is getting by on the strength of lingering Christianity, but same Christianity is beginning to wane rapidly, and soon will be no more if something is not done to retrieve it. Elton John wants to end all Christianity and replace it with the rule of the south pacific island as described in the book, just as long as he is okay he doesn’t care about the harm he does to others. I suppose that is the fact of lawlessness, if you’re okay don’t care about anything, but just watch your back.
